Notables includes achievements, honors and other distinctions earned by Georgia Gwinnett College and the members of its extended community. This includes faculty, staff, administration, students and close associates of the college. Notables features recognitions spanning academics and scholarship, leadership positions, community service and involvement, individual achievements and other news of significance. Members of the GGC community may submit items from our Notables form. Notables is updated with the spring, summer and fall publication of Engage magazine and Engage Online.

Olivia Ehiwe
Olivia Ehiwe, Class of 2015, won one of GGC’s first MLK Humanitarian Awards, presented by the Office of Student Involvement and the Student Center. She currently serves as the first Miss GGC.


Kay Everett
Kay Everett, Class of 2011 and coordinator of Academic and Student Affairs at GGC, recently earned a master’s of public administration from the University of Georgia. She spent time assisting the Seoul Metropolitan Government with policy work during an internship in South Korea.


Homero Gonzalez
Homero Gonzalez, class of 2011, was recently named to the board of directors of Lawrenceville’s Aurora Theatre.


Jose Gutierrez
Jose Gutierrez, Class of 2015, is currently serving as an intern at the White House.


Jordan Rudnicki
Jordan Rudnicki, Class of 2016 and a member of GGC’s charter nursing class, was elected treasurer of the Georgia Association of Nursing Students at its 2014 fall convention and attended the National Student Nurses’ Association’s Mid-Year Conference last November.


Petah Shaw
Petah Shaw, Class of 2017, won one of the first MLK Humanitarian Awards, presented by the Office of Student Involvement and the Student Center.
